It is with great sadness that we share the death of our father, Mike Prevost who passed away at the end of July 2021 after COVID related complications.
Mike and Gay Prevost were one of a handful of deciduous farmers who pioneered the organic route in the early 2000’s. They always had a key interest in nature and It was the “silent” springs on Lorraine Farm that led them to transform into an organic operation, with the first batch of organic apple cider vinegar in late 2004.
Mike loved travelling both within South Africa with family and friends, across Africa and abroad to Europe and Australia. He had a passion for all things botanical and would freely share his knowledge especially in relation to gardens, plants, trees and of course, composting.
He has left a big hole in our hearts as well as the entire organic community. Fortunately, not all his secrets in the production of vinegar have been lost. Over the past 3 years he has been in the process of handing over the tradition to his son Mark, who, along with his wife Catherine will continue his legacy with the production and distribution of his organic apple cider vinegar.
May you rest in peace and enjoy your garden without fences.
